tasheart – fine arts creator
tasheart is an artist who believes in art as a healing process to teach lessons of gratitude. Her subject matters are memorialised moments in time. Painting and drawing are her languages to capture timeless sights that represent symbols of hope encountered in her journey through life. She believes by creating art, we can grasp simple pleasures, seek harmony with our surroundings and remind ourselves of important lessons in life.
tasheart helped found the University of Otago’s art club to create a community space for young creators. Through exhibitions, she has received awards for cultural relevance and excellence in sculpting. Presently, her work can be found displayed at The Arts Village: a visual and tactile storytelling journey featuring Te Rotorua-nui-ā-Kahumatamomoe. It looks through the lens of an artist and stimulates the discovery of their inner-artist, tangata whenua – ‘being’ of this land.
